mockup of a logo of mine

One of the first projects to come out of the diploma course.
Our class was tasked with individually creating our own personal logos that would be displayed in conjunction with the rest of our work to be showcased at the end of the year.

The inspiration of my logo came from the my Japanese background.
The temples in japan had a Torii gate that leads to the temple. These typically look almost identical and share a very similar structure to my personal identity.
Not only does it look like Torii gates, it also uses my initials "I" and "H" to create the structure and if you look at it carefully you might be able to spot it.

Using my initials was always my goal for this project but I did not want it to be clearly visible as remembering and identifying a shape is easier than remembering it as two letters intertwined. Because of this I wanted my logo to be seem first as a shape, before being recognized more in depth.
